Beating the Odds!

In this episode, Boyd Dunleavy shares his journey fighting cancer and how he met his stem cell donor.

Money Learnings: Boyd didn’t learn about money from school and parents, despite having parents that worked at a bank.
Bio: Boyd Dunleavey from Ontario Canada, a husband and father of 3 young children was diagnosed with a nearly impossible form of Blood Cancer July 2011 (Acute Myeloid Leukemia 6:9). The family was told without a life saving stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor he had less than a 10% chance of living the year.
Fast forward to spring 2012 he had a live saving stem cell transplant! Some of the long term side effects from a year’s worth of chemotherapy and radiation were brain and spinal cord trauma…
In spring 2013 they find out that Boyd’s stem cell donor is an American serviceman named Nathan who was serving his country in Japan!
Who says dreams can’t come true? Boyd asked to be on this show to thank and honour those who have believed in him and to especially thank those who have served their country.
