Raising Money Savvy Kids with Doug Nordman

Today we are going to talk to Doug Nordman who retired at 41 and lives in paradise spending his days wondering about the surf report while he raised a financially savvy kid.  There are some amazing incites that Doug shares and you will leave having a strong plan to raise your own money savvy kids. Remember you have to start when they are young!

Doug and his spouse reached their financial independence in the late 1990s (on a high savings rate). He retired after 20 years with the U.S. Navy’s submarine force in 2002 (at the age of 41) and his spouse is a retired Navy Reservist. They’ve lived in Hawaii for 28 years and he starts every day with the surf forecast. Their daughter was born and raised here, and she’s watched her parents enjoy financial independence for over half of her life. Today she’s on sea duty in her own Navy career and married to another active-duty spouse.
